director of youth theatres
Hailing from Gippsland, Zachary has a strong passion for all aspects of the Performing Arts and Education. Being extremely passionate about social justice and the Arts, Zac found his way into the world of Fresh and has never looked back.
Before finishing his Bachelor of Creative Arts (Drama and Film) at Deakin, Zac began working for Fresh Theatre for Social Change in 2011 as an intern at the Blackburn Youth Theatre. In his second season with Blackburn, Zac became one of the Theatre Director's until the move to open and run a new theatre for Fresh in Manningham. Zac became the resident Theatre Director at Fresh Manningham and facilitated drama and performing arts workshops in schools to a range of youth and specialising in youth who are underprivileged through the various programs run through Fresh. From here, Zac then joined the Board of Directors at Fresh and his portfolio was focused around artistic direction and fundraising.
Throughout all of this, Zachary has been apart of a number of community musical theatre shows throughout the suburbs of Melbourne, including 'The Drowsy Chaperone' (CLOC Musical Theatre), 'Next to Normal' (Williamstown Musical Theatre Company) and 'The Addams Family' (OCPAC), to name a few. With this, Zachary has also been apart of a number of film and TV projects, working both on and off screen. On screen credits include work with Funlab Pty Ltd. starring in videos for their promotional and recruiting content and starring as an extra for NHB Productions TV sitcom 'Room and Board'.
Currently, Zachary has just completed his Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at Deakin University and is looking forward to continuing his passion for education in his new position at Fresh and also his new teaching position at Brentwood Secondary College. Zac hopes to share his long and deep passion for all things 'the Arts' and advocacy for the Arts.'
